Summer Beauty Empties - Part II - Caudalie, Boscia, Indie Lee and more!

Welcome to part II of the summer beauty empties! I'm amazed I was able to finish so many products! I’m one of those people who dabbles in something here and there and almost never finish anything. I think I have something internal telling me that if I finish something it will be empty and I don’t feel any satisfaction from seeing empty bottles. It’s good to be uncomfortable though and we all have to start somewhere ;) These are the rest of the products I used up this summer and I've summarized if they are worth your money!

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser - $20 for 50ml

I really like this cleanser and find it to be very soothing and gentle. It says it can remove makeup, but I think there are better cleansers for that. I’ve usually used this product in my morning cleansing routine because it’s so gentle. It’s a bit pricey for what you get though and there have been some articles out there saying there is a drugstore product that is dupe! Will need to try that to determine if this is true.

Indie Lee Lotion COQ-10 - $45 for 125ml

This was a new product for me in an Indie Lee trial set. It has great reviews on Sephora and promises hydration with Hyaluronic Acid and protection against environmental stressors with CQ10 enzymes. It’s nice product, but I didn’t notice any additional hydration. It's a nice to have, but don't think I'll be repurchasing it.

Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask - $47 for 75ml

What I love about Caudalie masks is that they only need to be on your face for 10 minutes. My strategy is to apply the mask before showering and wash off during. The formula is white and has small granules in it. Some exfoliating masks sting and I didn't find this one did. My skin felt very smooth after. Caudalie often has trial size mask sets available and they are a great way to try their mask assortment and determine if it will work for you.

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask - $17 for 30ml

This is a great entry level mask to help detoxify your pores. It's quite gentle and does bring things up to the surface of your skin. Wouldn't recommend using it before a big event for that reason! It was a bit too gentle for me though. Would be perfect for those who have sensitive, oily, teenage or young adult skin.

Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel - $37 for 150ml

This is a great cleanser for oily skin but didn't work very well on my dry skin. I'm not sure it would remove makeup and would probably be a better morning cleanser or a second step in a double cleanse routine. The price point is a bit high for a cleanser and I would imagine there are some good drug store dupes for this one too!

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior - $122 for 50ml

This product does exactly what it claims to do - plump and moisturize. I had a 7.5ml trial size that lasted me about 2 weeks. During that time period my face was very plump and my skin felt much more hydrated. The only thing I didn't like about this product was the smell. It's very chemical. At this price point there are a lot of serums and picking one really depends on your main skin concerns. I think I will pick this one up in the future, but have a few others I'm using now.

Jose Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil - $22.50 for 15ml

Argan oil is available at most natural food stores but this one claims to be superior. It is a very nice argan oil, but not sure it's worth paying 100% premium. I've used this product a few times over the years, but find argan oil is a bit strong for my skin The product does support women's cooperatives in Morocco. There are other Jose Maran products that I love though, like the whipped body butter!

I hope this helps you decide if any of these products are worth trying for you. I have a few other new products I'm trying for the fall and winter and will do another one of these then. If there is a product you were wanting to try, shoot me a note and I'd love to hear more about it.
