New Year's Eve Beauty Organization

There is no better way to start the new year than with a clean and tidy beauty stash. The end of the year is the perfect time to evaluate everything we have, get rid of things that are old and expired and make note of the items we need to pick up in the future.

This way, you won't risk using an old or expired product on your skin, which could cause rashes or breakouts. In addition, having a list of items you need will subconsciously alert you to look out for them when they go on sale.

The first step in this process is to collect all products from everywhere in your home. I realized I had lip balms, hand lotions and beauty products in 5-6 different places around the house. When I grouped everything together, I realized I didn't actually need more as I already had a few extras!

The next step is to organize products by where you use them - body, face. nails etc. After that, you can group them out further. For example for face - eye creams, cleansers, moisturizers, masks, serums and treatments. Finally, sort through the ones that are old/almost finished, the ones you use currently and the new unopened ones you have for the future. This is the perfect time to decide if you will be using the almost finished products or if you will be throwing them out. The same for the new, unopened products - will you be using them? Or will you be giving them away as gifts? Take note of these items so you don't accidentally buy more thinking you don't have enough.

Finally, group all the products back together in these three categories - old/almost empty, daily use and future use and put away. Your beauty products are ready for the new year!

This is also a great time to wash makeup brushes, wipe down drawers and cabinets as well as go through the same process with makeup.

Happy tidying! I have a summary reel on my instagram:
