There are so many amazing small brands out there that create great products, but aren't in mainstream stores or spoken about frequently. Through my Causebox subscription I've been introduced to some new natural beauty products that I've really been enjoying!
Natural beauty products usually contain clean ingredients and are ethically and sustainably made. The are also often free of sulfates (detergents) and parabens (preservatives). Parabens have been linked to hormonal issues and cancers. The amount in most products is likely too small to make a noticeable impact in the short-term, but over your lifetime could have a cumulative negative impact. Those who are pregnant, breast-feeding, have sensitive skin or hormonal issues could benefit from natural beauty products.
Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Face Cleanser 60g for $35
This was my first time using a powder cleanser. You take a pea sized amount in your palm and mix in a few drops of water. Then you lather it up and it turns into a foaming cleanser. Hanalei is based out of Hawaii and the cleanser is made in Korea. It contains natural papaya enzymes that have vitamin A and C to brighten and exfoliate. It's a lovely cleanser and I usually use it in the shower in the morning. All Hanalei products are 100% cruelty-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free and sulfate-free.
Earth Harbor Aqua Aura Reparative Eye Creme - $34
This eye cream is blue! It's also very liquid like which is different from most other eye creams that are usually thicker. It contains seaweed, collagen and plant oils and promises to firm the eye area. I'm not sure if it's actually done any firming, but it goes on cool to the touch and feels really nice. The texture is very unique and it smells nice as well. It's 100% Non-GMO, organic, gluten and soy free and plant based.
Derma e Hydrating Night Cream 56g for $29.50
This eye cream is a steal! It contains hyaluronic acid which adds hydration back to the skin. It's a thicker cream, good for those with dry skin and made for night use. It is very moisturizing and a little goes a long way. The cream is 100% cruelty, GMO, soy, and gluten free. It's also the most popular item out of the list and is available from many online retailers.
Grace and Stella Hyaluronic Acid Serum 50ml for $25
Another amazing hyaluronic acid product. This one comes in a beautiful glass bottle and looks much more expensive than it actually is. The serum is very liquid like and has a pump bottle. The pump isn't the greatest, but it is a very good quality product. It feels like splashing water on your face and it absorbs right away. Grace and Stella products are all vegan, cruelty and paraben free.
Cosmedix Glow Bamboo Brightening Mask 37g for $30
This mask smells delicious and is similar to other exfoliating masks. It's a white mask with exfoliating bamboo granules and vitamin C to help with shedding dead skin and improve elasticity. All Cosmedix products are 100% free of parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, PEGs, sodium lauryl sulfate, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, fragrances and are 100% cruelty-free.
I was surprised how well these natural products worked and would say they are just as good as their non-clean counterparts. It's amazing how far natural products have come. The days of natural products not doing anything or breaking you out are over!
